Outdoor Wednesday

Welcome to Outdoor Wednesday, hosted by Susan at A Southern Daydreamer.

I thought you might be tired of seeing the flowers in the back yard, so I'm sharing pictures of the front yard this week.

Starting at the left, assorted day lilies, Billy Graham rose bush, ivy leaf geraniums, more day lilies, Henry Fonda rose bush, more day lilies and a brush cherry bush.

See the house on the left? We lived there for 20 years. We bought our next door neighbors house 10 years ago. Our son bought our old house and remodeled it. Pretty cool, huh?

I've alway loved houses with front porches and suggested to my husband several times that we add a porch to the front of our house. (Well, actually I nagged at him constantly). Whenever I found a picture, I'd show him. One day I found the perfect porch picture in an advertisement. I cut it out and stuck it on the refrigerator. Our porch is very similar to that little inspiration picture. I just wish the flower beds were a little wider... ☺

Susan, thank you for hosting this fun weekly event. You can visit A Southern Daydreamer to see the other Outdoor Wednesday posts, by clicking HERE.

Enjoy!

Diane

How wonderful that your son lives next door in that home that used to be YOURS!! I love your front porch. I always wanted one, too, so when we built our home 4 years ago---I made certain of it. Actually,my husband enjoys it more than I do. Happy Wednesday! Dana

I just ♥ the front of your house and I'm with you...a front porch is one of those things that feeds the soul☺ When I sit on my front porch something, I don't know what, makes me feel special, especially if I have a good book with me and something cool to drink!

I like your porch with all those flowers blooming :-0 You must spend a lot time sitting there just relaxing. I it's it's nice to to have your son lives just next to you. He has his own space and yet he's still close to family.

Happy Outdoor Wednesday!

Beautiful....quaint porch...wish I had a covered porch big enough to sit on and watch the world go by. And the flowers? Gorgeous!!

My Wordful/Outdoor Wednesday is all about something that was 'taken from our yard'. But at our request. Happy Wednesday to you.

When I was a small child, we had a front porch, and every evening in the summertime, we'd sit and rock and sing songs. It was lovely. Your home is charming with the curving pathway to your porch. It must be super nice to live so close to your son.

Diane, I love your flowers and your porch. And how neat to have your son next door in your old home! :-)

I have never heard of Billy Graham roses, but since he's one of my favorite people on earth, I would love to have some.

Wishing you all the best for a Happy Fourth!

Hi Diane,

How fun that your son lives next door. I love the story of your front porch - it is perfect for your home and looks like part of the original design. A good example of "dreams do come true if you nag enough".
Have a lovely week.
Blessings,
Erin

Beautiful gardens! Good for you for nagging. I think my favorite part of any house are the porches! :-) Now, just get DH to carve away some more of that grass and you can have those beds as wide as you want! :-)
